WHIRL-Y-GIG New Year’s Eve
Saturday 31st December
Tickets £32 | Doors 21:00
WHIRL-Y-Gig returns to Subterania for the biggest night of the year! We will be dancing into 2023 together under the Whirl-y-Gig parachute! Our New Year’s Eve parties were a fixture on the Whirly calendar from 1991 to 2014 and have been greatly missed. This year we anticipate a party to top all that has come before! We can hardly express our excitement to be bringing you two revelatory guest artists who took us by storm at this year’s Whirl-y-Fayre, Spacehopper and ManMadeMan.
SPACEHOPPER are renowned for performing dance music at parties, festivals and raves. They create acid-tinged euphoric trance and up-beat dub. With two chart topping singles on Beatport, there is a forthcoming album expected on Magick Eye.
MANMADEMAN have been producing music since 1994. From organic beats and uplifting melodic grooves to full on psytrance and music released on such diverse labels as Nano and Disco Gecko, their performance is imbued with optimistic drive and heartfelt playfulness.
We will all be in very good company on SATURDAY 31st DECEMBER 2022!
WHIRL-Y-GIG embodies the spirit of community in a carnival atmosphere. Bathed in rainbow rippling lights and wrapped in exotic decor, it is a festival of delights for people of all ages and places.
Dance to the Whirl-y-Beat and journey through Whirl-y-Gig’s unique electronic landscape, where many diverse elements blend into one cohesive and unifying experience. From deep dubstep and hot drum n bass to tropical house, trippy techno and tribal trance, the Whirl-y-Mix embraces flavours of celtic or global, classical or psychedelic, pop or rock, roots and radical. Whether it be African or European, Arabic or Asian, British or American, Whirl-y-Gig finds inspiration from around the world, yet is firmly rooted in the here and now of London’s alternative club scene.
WHIRL-Y-GIG is an event difficult to describe and a moment difficult to miss. With a strong and loving life force, the Whirl-y-Sound is a musical heartbeat for a future global family.
“Whirl-y-Gig has been in existence since the 1980s and for very good reason, for a fun filled, amazing night with great music and people it is without doubt the place to go in London.” (Rock Industry June 2016)
“The intense atmosphere, the diverse clientele, that constant intimacy and openness – this is the way that Whirl-y-Gig has been since its inception in the 1980s.” (Vice January 2016)
